Highly Qualified Practitioners At Cosmetic ... - Health and Fitness Blog

The advances experienced in this medical sector have been little less than miraculous. Procedures performed at cosmetic dentist New York City are of the highest quality and patients are realizing their wildest dreams with perfect dentures and dazzling smiles. These well trained practitioners offer their patients long term dental care that combines functionality with beauty.

Many people experience various types of oral defects which can be embarrassing and lead to low esteem issues. Over exposed gum surfaces, crooked and yellow teeth can make them self conscious when meeting strangers. In many cases a good cleaning and low key whitening can alleviate staining and yellow enamel.

Tooth whitening entails a pain free application of peroxide gel which whitens tooth enamel within an hour. The procedure leaves dentures sparklingly white. Daily new over the counter products are made available which enable people to touch-up and maintain their teeth at home.

Tooth beautification has been radically changed with porcelain veneering. These veneers are used extensively to correct a number of dental ailments. They are an instant and durable whitening process which can also be used to create uniformity in a tooth line. Custom made to snugly fit each individual tooth, veneers are manufactured in dental laboratories from mould impressions taken by the dentist. Covers and fronts are attached to enamel surfaces with special adhesive.

Delicately thin in appearance but actually very durable and strong veneers are also able to withstand day to day staining caused by beverages and foods. With care they can serve one well for as long as 20 years. Veneering successfully covers crooked, chipped and broken teeth, fills gaps in a tooth line and generally covers to whiten. With this painless procedure million dollar smiles can be attained within as little as two sessions.

Old fashioned wire braces have been replaced with modern clear custom made aligners that are soft and easy to wear yet strong enough to straighten skew teeth. The results attained are excellent and the fact that they can be removed when eating or for cleaning makes them a trouble free option.

In extreme cases when teeth are severely damaged or to replace a tooth lost through trauma, neglect or aging titanium dental implants is an option instead of dental plates or bridges. Practitioners as cosmetic dentist New York City have the expertise and experience to advise patients on which procedure is best suited to their individual needs.

9,000-year-old charms found in Israel

Yael Yolovitch / IAA / AP

Archaeologists say this limestone figurine of a ram, discovered at a highway construction site between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, dates back 9,000 to 9,500 years.

By Alan Boyle

Israeli archaeologists say two animal-shaped figurines discovered at the site of an Israeli highway construction project go back more than 9,000 years, and reflect the religious practices that were common in the region several millennia before Moses.

"It is known that hunting was the major activity in this period," Hamoud Khalaily, one of the directors of the Tel Mosa dig, said in a statement issued Wednesday by the Israeli Antiquities Authority. "Presumably, the figurines served as good-luck statues for ensuring the success of the hunt and might have been the focus of a traditional ceremony the hunters performed before going out into the field to pursue their prey."

One of the figurines, sculpted from limestone and measuring about 6 inches (15 centimeters) in length, looks like a horned ram. The other, smoothed and shaped from dolomite, seems to depict a buffalo, ox or other type of bovine animal, archaeologists said.

The Stone Age figurines turned up during an excavation that's being conducted a few miles north of Jerusalem to clear the way for widening Highway 1 to Tel Aviv. The project's directors said they?were found last week, near a large round building that had a foundation built from fieldstones, and an upper wall section apparently made of mud brick.

Khalaily and excavation co-director Anna Eirikh said the finds date back 9,000 to 9,500 years. That's thousands of years before the time of Moses, who was thought to have lived in the time frame of 1400 to 1500 B.C. But the period when the figurines were created, known as the Pre-Pottery Neolithic B, may have been as much of a turning point for the region's social and religious practices as Moses' time was.

Yael Yolovitch / IAA via AP

This 9,000-year-old figurine was sculpted from dolomite, excavation directors Anna Eirikh and Hamoudi Khalaily said in a statement from the Israel Antiquities Authority. They said it "seems to depict a large animal with prominent horns that separate the elongated body from the head. The horns emerge from the middle of the head sideward and resemble those of a wild bovine or buffalo."

"The Pre-Pottery Neolithic B period ... is considered one of the most fascinating chapters in the history of mankind; many changes took place in it that shaped human society for thousands of years to come," Khalaily said. "During this period, the transition began from nomadism, based on hunting and gathering, to sedentary life, based on farming and grazing."

This was the age when animals were being domesticated, agriculture was on the rise, and urban settlements (including one of the earlier incarnations of the biblical city of Jericho) were being built up. Religion, too, was being codified. At Turkey's G?bekli Tepe archaeological site, for example, researchers have found the world's oldest-known temple, a place of worship that was first built up as far back as 12,000 years ago and was still apparently in use when the Tel Mosa figurines were sculpted hundreds of miles away.

Khalaily suspects that the figurines were used as good-luck charms for hunting, but Eirikh has an alternate theory: Perhaps the figurines were associated with efforts to domesticate wild oxen or goats. Either way, these statuettes served as stand-ins for the creatures that Stone Age societies were beginning to bring under their control.

Internet Marketing Tips For Business Owners ? SEO Vs PPC and Why You Need Both to Generate Leads

If you are running a business in a very competitive market like Atlanta, Dallas, New York, etc where the population is outrageous, it is vital that you incorporate internet marketing as a part of your marketing campaign. It is encouraged that a company research the best methods to drive traffic to a company website before spending a dime. The first thing you will probably see a lot of while conducting your research is SEO and PPC. This article will give you a basic idea what Search Engine Optimization and Pay Per Click is all about, and why it is very important to utilize them both.

There are lots of methods that are available to website owners as to how they plan to increase their traffic and effectively promote their internet business. Search engine optimization (popularly called SEO) along with pay per click (PPC) ad campaigns such as banners and email marketing are indeed one of the most common and very effective methods when it comes to non-web advertising.

Search engine optimization and PPC campaigns (such as Google Ads, Yahoo etc) are two top methods that are considered as highly result oriented. Both PPC and search engine optimization are known to have their own benefits, this article will go on to explain the differences between these two and how two of them can help you.

If you choose to still continue using search engine optimization as your one and only source of marketing, you will need to balance your marketing strategy because the competition may already have. Please understand that this is not to imply that Search engine optimization is not helpful; but the solution is not to totally rely on it, but follow in the steps of what other successful online businesses are using ? a complementary and mixed search engine marketing strategy. This method still utilizes the SEO method to rely on internet spiders and to very carefully placed keywords. Still, it also accesses a valuable paid search, internet public relations and many other strategies,

The key is that a varied and integrated approach can launch one?s business through the roof without further delays. Well, on the other hand, this immediate start if properly managed can be sustained, which means that the success is long term. A really careful balance of internet marketing tactics can also be lucrative, which will of course lead to a combination of low costs and high income ? this is indeed a great combination.

SEO works by using specific keywords or key phrases in order to get high ranking on search engine search results. The end result of higher ranking thanks to search engine optimization is that your website gets more hits. You also need to understand that going after traffic only is the biggest misconceptions about optimizing your website because failing to target your keywords rightly will greatly reduce your conversion rate. This strategy works and is also a very important part of any internet marketing campaign. Actually, about 60% of clicks to a particular website are all thanks to optimizing the website.

With pay per click, the formulas used never change. Your ad will show up when a surfer types in a given keyword or keyword phrase. One can even guarantee that they get more coverage than the competition by simply paying the search engine or other types of marketing vehicles. With pay per click, you do not have to start with a high bid even though the upfront payment costs of paid ad placements are way less than search engine optimization. In addition, you can also expect fast results.

Note: Finding the correct method to market your company can be very confusing and time consuming. That is why it is important to seek the advise of a SEO- Internet Marketing professional before taking on this task alone.

I hope this article is helpful in your quest to finding the best methods to marketing your business online. You will find so many more internet marketing solutions on the web, but SEO and PPC in most cases (if done correctly) will grow your business. If you have any questions please fill free to contact:

Japan officials to visit disputed islands

TOKYO (AP) ? Tokyo city officials intending to buy tiny islands at the center of a longtime territorial dispute with China left by boat on Saturday to survey the area ahead of the purchase they hope will bolster Japan's claim.

The five uninhabited islands in the East China Sea that are controlled by Japan but also claimed by China and Taiwan have become a major symbol of patriotic pride for some people in China and Japan. They are near key sea lanes and are surrounded by rich fishing grounds and untapped natural resources.

Tokyo Gov. Shintaro Ishihara has raised 1.45 billion yen ($19 million) in private donations over the last several months to buy the islands, known as Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, from individual Japanese owners.

Ishihara, a popular nationalist, told reporters Friday he had spoken with Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and offered to turn over ownership of the islands to the central government for free.

Supporters think having the government own the islands will strengthen Japan's control over them and send a tougher message to China. Noda said he would consider the offer but did not have an immediate reply, Ishihara said.

The city government says the purpose of the trip by a team of 25 experts and officials is to survey the area to assess its real estate value in preparation for the purchase. The central government did not grant permission to land on the islands, possibly to avoid a flare-up of tensions with China.

The boat left southwestern Japan late Saturday and is to circle the islands for about 10 hours on Sunday to study the area, examine animal and plant life, and measure the depth of coastal waters, according to the city government.

Ishihara wants to eventually build a lighthouse, a dock and a weather observatory on the islands. He has expressed interest in personally going to the islands, possibly next month, but is not part of this voyage.

Last month, Japan detained and later released 14 Hong Kong activists who landed on the islands. Japanese activists have made similar trips. One such group, including several lawmakers, landed a few days after the Chinese were detained.

Hundreds of Chinese have staged anti-Japanese demonstrations in several Chinese cities over the islands. Anti-Japanese sentiments run deep in China because of bitter memories of atrocities committed by Japanese soldiers during World War II.

This past week, a car carrying the Japanese ambassador to China was attacked by a man who ripped the Japanese flag off. No one was injured.

Donkey attacks and kills South Texas mayor

William Bohlke was killed by a 500-pound donkey on his farm. (City of Hollywood Park)They say that U.S. politics, whose two major parties are represented by a donkey and an elephant, is a full-contact sport. But one small South Texas town is dealing with tragedy after their mayor was killed by an aggressive, 500-pound donkey.

William Bohlke had been in office only since May, but was reportedly well liked by local residents in Hollywood Park, 15 miles north of San Antonio. The San Antonio Express-News reports that Bohlke was found on Monday by Atascosa County officials.

"We'll probably never know what triggered it," Atascosa County Chief Deputy David Soward told the paper. "But it was evident that this particular donkey was involved, based on the evidence at the scene and what we saw on this?donkey."

The donkey is still reportedly roaming the grounds of Bohlke's property, while his family decides what to do with it. The aggressive donkey is believed to have kicked and trampled Bohlke to death on Monday morning while he worked on his farm.

Aggressive behavior in donkeys is certainly not unheard of. And while donkeys are not as popular as dogs, thousands of farm owners in Texas have turned to donkeys in recent years to serve as guards over their sheep and cattle.

Donkeys are herd animals, but they are also territorial ones that can attempt to establish dominance over areas of up to 9 square miles. Soward said it's possible the donkey that killed Bohlke was acting out in this sort of dominant behavior.

Bohlke's famly released a statement posted on the city's website, which reads:

"Bill suffered a fatal injury while taking care of his prized cow herd near Pleasanton. "Bill, your mayor, dearly loved serving you, our community, and we only wish he was here to continue doing so. We are still making the necessary funeral arrangements and will advise City Hall when we have been able to do so."

BFT "Life Changer" - Zumba Instructor Cristin Wood | Black Fitness ...

Black Fitness Today is proud to present a new feature called ?Life Changers,? spotlighting African-Americans who have made a commitment to improving the lives of others through health and fitness.

This month?s ?Life Changers? spotlight features Zumba instructor Cristin Wood. The Shaker Heights, Ohio native currently living in Norfolk, Virginia talked to us about her personal health and fitness journey, and what inspired her to become an instructor.

Q. When did you start getting serious about your health?
A. In October 2010 I started training for my first half marathon with a group called Team In Training. We help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by training for endurance events.? After each run, I would post my mileage on Facebook and Twitter. The feedback I received was amazing! People I didn?t even know told me that I inspire them.?When others started taking my fitness journey seriously, I was forced to do so as well.

Q. Tell us about your journey to becoming a Zumba Instructor and what you enjoy most about it.
A. My journey is a little different than most.?I didn?t like Zumba and couldn?t understand what all of the hype was about.? I have a dance background so when I watch other people dance, I?m a tough critic. It seemed that the instructors of every class I went to had NO rhythm and that drove me CRAZY! In April of 2011, I was in San Diego for work, and my friend convinced me to try Zumba at her gym and it finally clicked.?The instructor had so much energy and I felt like I was at a party!? From that moment, I knew I could be an instructor too.

I love having the opportunity to inspire my students in each class while doing something I enjoy! Additionally, I have a Zumba box that is filled with quotes, scriptures and inspirational messages.? At the end of class, students come and take a card that is made to nourish them mentally after being challenged physically.?

Q. What is your current workout routine?
A. This sounds like a lot more than it is ? but I am finishing my 4th week of Insanity, running three times a week to train for a half marathon and teaching Zumba 1-2 times a week.?I?ve lost 30 pounds so far and have 15 more to go.

Q. What does health and fitness mean to you?
A. To me, health and fitness is a journey to become your best self. No matter how smart you are or?what legacy you want to leave, you can?t accomplish anything if you have poor health.?When I exercise and eat right I sleep better, have more energy, think more clearly, am more productive more likely to challenge myself in other areas. As I become stronger physically, I?m doing the same mentally and becoming an all around better person.

Q. Where can people attend your class?
A. I am currently teaching on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. at:
Cardio Studio
5127 Witchduck Court Suite 102
Virginia Beach, VA 23462

In September, I will be adding additional classes. Feel free to visit my website at cwood4.zumba.com.

U.N.'s Ban tells Iranian leaders to prove nuclear program peaceful

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon met Iran's president and supreme leader in Tehran on Wednesday and urged them to take concrete steps to prove the country's nuclear program is peaceful.

He also called on all states to stop supplying arms to the conflict in Syria, Ban's spokesman, Martin Nesirky, said.

He told reporters in New York that in separate meetings with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the secretary-general further said that he considered their latest verbal attacks on Israel to be offensive, inflammatory and unacceptable.

Ban arrived in Tehran on Wednesday for a three-day visit to attend a meeting of some 120 non-aligned nations. He defied calls from the United States and Israel to boycott the event.

"On the nuclear question ... he said that he regretted that little tangible progress has been achieved so far," Nesirky, speaking by telephone from Tehran, told reporters in New York.

"He said that Iran needed to take concrete steps to address the concerns of the International Atomic Energy Agency and prove to the world that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes," Nesirky said.

Iran says its program is peaceful, but Western powers and their allies fear it is aimed at developing atomic weapons. Iran has been hit with four rounds of U.N. Security Council sanctions for refusing to halt its nuclear enrichment program.

On Syria, Ban urged Iran's leaders to use their influence to call on Syria's President Bashar al-Assad to end the violence and create conditions for "credible dialogue and a genuine political process that meets the will of the Syrian people."

"The secretary-general reiterated his opposition to the further militarization of the conflict and called on all states to stop supplying arms to all sides in Syria," Nesirky said.

Last week the United Nations said Iran appears to be supplying Syria with weapons, as the 17-month conflict that began as a popular uprising against Assad slides deeper into civil war.

Ban expressed concern about the human rights situation in Iran and also said that he strongly objected to recent remarks by Iran's leaders on Israel.

Earlier this month Ahmadinejad said there was no place for the Jewish state in a future Middle East and Khamenei said Israel would one day be returned to the Palestinian nation and would cease to exist.

"He said such offensive and inflammatory statements were unacceptable and should be condemned by all," Nesirky said.

Key US teaching hospital switches to business VoIP | Packnet

29/08/12 09:43 AM | |

A leading teaching hospital located in the US capital, Washington D.C., has announced that it is to replace its old internal network of business phone systems with a single state of the art internet protocol (IP) telephony network. Included as part of this will be the widespread deployment of business VoIP (voice over internet protocol) phone handsets for the organisation?s 1,700 staff.

The hospital ? the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, which specialises in providing medical treatment to former US military personnel ? says it has made the decision to implement the new business VoIP system as part of a much needed overhaul of its entire communications network.

The hospital says it also intends to integrate its new IP telephony system with tablet usage amongst medical and administrative staff to further extend the mobility integral in the new business VoIP system.

Among the benefits accruing from its new IP telephony solution, says the hospital, is that voice calls, telephone conferencing and instant messaging will all now become more easily accessible, regardless of where any of the organisation?s employees are located.

It is anticipated that the hospital?s proposed IP telephony system will be ready for use by the end of the year.

The adoption of a new IP telephony and business VoIP system by the Veterans Affairs medical Center is representative of a worldwide trend among many organisations that have found that switching to IP telephony not only overcomes the inefficiencies inherent in their ageing business phone systems, but also grants them access to vastly enhanced communications processes. In many cases, it can even lead to reduced annual phone costs.

The shift to IP telephony and business VoIP is also evident among smaller companies and organisations that, although not necessarily able to afford to invest in new capital equipment, can still access IP telephony via the services of a business VoIP provider or VoIP reseller.
